Movimento III - Contemporary Dance Performance
From July 14, 7:30 pm until July 15, 9:30 pm Save to calendar
Ilinx is a kind of play, described by sociologist Roger Caillois, a major figure in game studies. Ilinx creates a temporary disruption of perception, as with vertigo, dizziness, or disorienting changes in direction ofmovement.
Over the past two years, we have brought to Preservation Hall Movimento I and II, danced in various spaces of the Hall, including the front and back gardens. This year, Movimento III – Ilinx brings a different performance experience where, instead of the audience moving from place to place, they are moved… entering dances that explore possibilities that exist between stability and instability.
