Off Center and Eccentricity -- two great stores, one location. At the west end of Main Street, these two shops have been a Wellfleet shopping destination for over 25 years. Each shop features its own distinctive look and both have been the recipient of many Reader's Choice awards by Cape Cod Life magazine. Fodor's Travel has written favorably of both.
Off Center is a store with a look all its own. From resort casual to that special outfit needed for your life events, the focus is on quality -- both in fabric choices and looks. Whether you are looking for comfortable elegance or just something you feel comfortable in, Off Center has something for you. While there is a definite European influence, most everything has been made in the USA. It's a unique style that will set you apart from the crowd. Texture. Layer. Color. All work together.
The shop is smartly accessorized from handbags to shoes. Off Center always has a fabulous collection of scarves. The jewelry choices are outstanding. Created by artists from America and Europe, architectural and sculptural elements are key.
Eccentricity, formerly at the corner of Main and Holbrook, has moved into a brand new space directly behind Off Center. For many years and to many visitors, Eccentricity was known as "The Kimono Store". While the kimono business has (sadly) been largely discontinued, the store retains the Asian/International flavor it has always been known for. Starting with a great basic foundation of comfortable, affordable, U.S. made clothing by Bryn Walker, Cut Loose, and Pacific Cotton, Eccentricity then allows you to personalize the look with a fantastic selection of ethnic jackets, scarves, and jewelry from around the world. When mixed with the colors, textures, and fabrics of our basics, you will have a comfortable, wearable look that lets you stand out while still being you.
Along with the clothing, Eccentricity has always carried an unusual and creative selection of all manner of things from around the world, including African masks and sculpture. The jewelry is fun, funky, and different. Maybe it's made of rubber, leather scraps, or pop tops. The collection is bound to make you smile. There are scarves from all over the world. Eccentricity features items made from recycled material -- African animals from metal shavings, bottle cap people, miniature bicycles made from small metal scraps, and much more...
It's a lot to take in and a whole lot of fun, so please come by and see for yourself!
